Building envelope airtightness
Air permeability testing quantifies the airtightness defects of a building (unwanted air infiltration) by depressurising or pressurising houses, apartment buildings or commercial buildings.
Ventilation duct airtightness
Ductwork air permeability testing quantifies and locates the leaks in ventilation or air-conditioning systems. It ensures the systems work properly and efficiently.

What RE2020 requires
Since 1 January 2022, the French RE2020 environmental regulation applies to new homes, and then to offices and educational buildings. At the end of construction, it requires an air permeability test carried out by a Qualibat 8711 qualified operator.
The result must meet the value set in the thermal study, up to a maximum of 0.6 m³/(h.m²) for a house and 1.0 m³/(h.m²) for an apartment building. Without this report, there is no end-of-works certificate.
Our advice: have an intermediate test done before the plasterboard goes up – leaks are then easy to fix.
